All žž parents are required to download the Covie App to stay up to date with the latest information that's relevant to you and your child. Please note that the App is not for student use.

Getting Started

1. Download the App - search for ‘žž Christian School’ in the Apple App Store or on Google Play.

2. Login - Open the App and you will be asked to sign in - simply use your Edumate Parent Portal login.

3. Notifications - to get the most out of the App, and so žž can send crucial, timely information, it is recommended to ‘Allow’ notifications. You can select notifications under 'Settings' on the App.

4. Security - we recommend enabling ‘Touch ID’ or ‘Face ID’ to add an extra layer of security to the App. View 'Settings' on the app to set this up.

Events

You can use the Covie App to give digital permissions for events and excursions. Only ONE parent needs to grant permission for an event (even though both parents will receive the notification via the App).

You can also use this feature to view the event or excursion information (for example, the related letter) that you have already given permission for your child to attend. Select Approved Events > select the applicable child > select the event you wish to view.

Absences

The Covie App allows you to approve absences from your mobile. You no longer need to email or call the school or send in a note (though you are welcome to do so via admin@covenant.nsw.edu.au).

At approximately 5.00pm* on the day your child is absent, you will receive a notification (providing you've enabled notifications) asking you to provide an explanation for the absence. Once you've opened the App, click on the Absences button and select the applicable child who has been absent (see third screen below). Click 'Submit absence explanation' and select the date of absence, then select a reason for the absence from the drop down menu. You will also need to provide a simple explanation. Click submit.

Only ONE parent needs to submit an absence (even though both parents will receive the notification via the App).

Many parents have been trying to use the App to advise the school that their child will be absent on a particular day. Please note the following:

  • An absence has to be recorded in our system before the App will allow you to explain that absence... i.e. after the roll has been marked.
  • To allow for anomalies (e.g. excursions/incursions) we send a notification of an absence through the App at 5.00pm which will prompt you to explain your child's absence.
  • Best practice - if your child is absent, wait till 5.00pm for a notification through the App and explain the absence then.
  • Junior School parents - if you would like to send an email to your class teacher and the Office as a courtesy, you are welcome to do so. The Office email address is admin@covenant.nsw.edu.au.

Applications for extended periods of leave are still required and are available here.

*This allows for any anomalies and ensures roll accuracy.

Newsletter

The Covie App will notify you when a new issue of the Newsletter is available to read (providing push notifications are allowed). You can simply click on the notification which will take you into the App. From there click on 'Newsletter' - it will have a red circle in the top right corner to show an new issue is available.

The Newsletter button on the App also allows you to access the Newsletter at any time from your mobile phone. You will be able to view past issues there.

Co-Curricular

Enrolment and ongoing information about our Co-Curricular activities can now be accessed via the Covie App.

  1. Ensure you have downloaded the latest version of the Covie App. You will know if you have the most recent version if you have the 'Co-Curricular' tile on the main screen.
  2. Select the 'Co-Curricular' tile.
  3. Select 'Activity Selection'.
  4. Once you have reached the 'Activity Selection' page, you will notice that your children's names are listed at the top of the screen. The tick indicates which child you are making selections for.
  5. Select the desired option - Coding, Dance Academy and/or Sports Academy.
  6. Once you have selected an option, you will be shown the available activities available for your child. This will not be the full list of activities; only those relevant according to the age of your child. You can view more information by selecting the desired activity and scrolling down.
  7. To enrol in a Co-Curricular activity, click on the 'Select' button. This activity will be added to your cart and you can continue to browse and add other activities for your child if desired.
  8. Repeat steps 5 to 7 for other children. Choose 'Cart' at the bottom of the screen to finish all enrolments and pay. Please note that payment will be required for Sports Academy and Coding only. Payment for Dance Academy will be added to school fees once the timetable has been finalised.

The Covie App allows you quick access to a number of helpful links from your mobile.

These include:

  • Canteen & Uniform Orders - use this link to quickly login to MunchMonitor to order from the Canteen or the Uniform Shop.
  • Letters to Parents - view the latest letters for the whole school, Junior and Secondary School.
  • Payments & Bookings - this is a new feature that allows you to pay for tuition fees and other events from your mobile.
  • Term Dates - View term dates for 2023 to 2024, as well as Junior and Secondary School period times.
  • Forms - this link allows quick access to regularly used forms.
  • Assessment & Exam Information - access the Assessment Task calendar for each Secondary year group, plus examination information.
  • Helpful Information - find answers to some frequently asked questions.
  • Wet weather notifications - This is where we will post wet weather notices if an event is cancelled due to wet weather.
  • PTO (Parent Teacher Online) - use this link to make bookings for Parent Teacher Interviews.

Calendar

You can use the Covie App to view the žž Calendar from your mobile.

View all school activities by month, week or day.

  • In the 'Today' view, see all events happening on the selected day.
  • In the 'Week' view, all the events for that week are listed sequentially. You can click on each event to learn more.
  • In the 'Month' view, the blue circle with a corresponding number indicates how many events are happening on a particular day. By scrolling down you can view the individual events and then click on each to learn more.

Timetable

You can now use the Covie App to view your child's timetable (Secondary students only).

By clicking on the 'Timetable' button, you can select which child's timetable you would like to view.

Tasks

You can now use the Covie App to view your child's upcoming tasks (Secondary students only).

By clicking on the 'Tasks' button, you can then select which child's tasks you would like to view.

žžs

You can now use the Covie App to easily and conveniently access the contact details for the Office, Sick Bay, Extend After School Care, Private Music Tutors and more.

By clicking on the 'žžs' button, you can select who you would like to contact.

Newsfeed

The Covie App can now send important and timely broadcasts to your mobile.

By clicking on the 'Newsfeed' button, you will be able to view the latest broadcasts.

Please ensure that you have enabled "Broadcast and Space Post activity" in the settings to ensure you receive these notifications.

In the event of an emergency, such as a school closure, we will be using this feature to notify parents (alongside email and SMS). We will also be using this feature to remind our community of important upcoming events, such as School Photo day.
