ÂÜÀòžž

At ÂÜÀòžž Christian School, we intentionally design our student-teacher ratio to foster a deeply personalised learning experience and to nurture each child's God-given gifts within a Christ-centred environment. Our commitment to a favourable student-teacher ratio ensures that every student receives individual attention and support tailored to their unique needs and potential.

Here is how we achieve this:

Optimal Class Sizes for Strong Relationships

â—¦ Our smaller class sizes, a direct result of our favourable student-teacher ratio, cultivate deeper student-teacher relationships. This allows our teachers to get to know each child thoroughly and create a safe space where students feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their thoughts.

â—¦ In our Junior School, infant classes (Kindergarten to Year 2) are typically smaller, with around 22 students per class, while older grades may have slightly more. We ensure these smaller settings help our teachers closely guide students as they grow into confident learners.

â—¦ In Secondary School, our unique "home class" structure provides a consistent teacher mentor for students from Years 7 through 12. This vertical class, comprising a few students from each grade, meets daily, fostering a support network for spiritual growth and mentorship.

Tailored Learning and Support

â—¦ Our low student-teacher ratio enables our teachers to more easily identify students who may need additional support or enrichment.

â—¦ We employ differentiation as a key teaching strategy, intentionally seeking to understand the individual needs of each child. This means our teachers provide tailored work for students who are struggling and offer challenging extension activities for advanced learners, ensuring all students are stretched within the same class.

â—¦ Our dedicated Learning Support team works closely with classroom teachers to provide prompt assistance. This includes in-class support, small group sessions, and one-on-one help. For students with specific learning needs, an Individual Plan (IP) is developed in consultation with parents, ensuring comprehensive academic and pastoral care. Parents are kept informed through regular communication regarding their child's academic development and any classroom adjustments.

Faith-Based Mentorship and Character Development

â—¦ All staff at ÂÜÀòžž are 100% committed Christians who are passionate about understanding each child deeply and embedding a biblical framework throughout the curriculum. This consistent Christian presence allows our teachers to serve as mentors, discipling students and instilling character traits such as dependability, faithfulness, generosity, hospitality, patience, and humility through daily interactions and teaching.

â—¦ The favourable ratio empowers our teachers to provide mentorship that supports both learning and faith development, contributing to students becoming resilient, passionate, and faithful followers of Jesus equipped to live for His glory. Our long-term goal is to develop students who are equipped to be a light in their communities, serving others and growing in character.

â—¦ Even outside of class time, a good number of our teachers to students enables our staff to see individual needs and provide spiritual guidance, such as tutoring an HSC student during lunch or walking around in the playground.
